How to install a Status301 Premium plugin

Before installing any of the Pro/Advanced plugins from Status 301, please follow the steps below.

1. Free plugin

Make sure you have the free version of the plugin installed and activated. If you are already using the free version, just leave it activated so you will not loose any of its settings.

If you do not have the free version, then:

  • Go to Plugins > Add New
  • In the search field on the top right, start typing the name of the plugin you just bought without the “Pro” or “Advanced” and you should find it.
  • Click Install Now and then Activate.

2. Premium extension plugin

Right after your purchase you will have gotten a download link either by email on directly on the confirmation page. If you did not download the Pro zip file already, then you can always go to https://premium.status301.com/account/, log in and find the download link under Files. Click the download link and save the file to an easy to find location on your computer, like the Downloads folder or your Desktop.

If you have the zip file ready, follow these steps to install:

  1. Go to Plugins > Add New
  2. Click the button Upload Plugin at the top, next to the the page title “Add Plugins”
  3. Click the button “Choose file” and browse to the downloaded zip file. Select it with a double-click or with “Select”, depending on your Operating System.
  4. Click Install Now.

Once the file is uploaded and installed, click Activate Plugin.

Your Pro options will now be available among the normal plugin settings.

3. Register for updates

To get plugin updates right in your admin, just like any other WordPress plugin, you’ll need to take one last step. After installing the zip file and activating the plugin, you will get an admin message saying:

You have not yet entered your license key for [PLUGIN NAME]. To receive plugin updates, please correct this issue.

Click the link “correct this issue” to open the plugin license page.

Note: if you do not see such a message, you can find the link “License” next to the “Deactivate” link on the Plugins page list right under the plugin you just installed. Follow the License link to register. 🙂

Right after your purchase you will have gotten a plugin license key either by email on directly on the confirmation page. If you did not copy the key code already, then you can always go to https://premium.status301.com/account/, log in and find the link “View Licenses” under Purchase History. Click the link and then click the Key icon to make the key visible. Double-click the key code and use Ctrl/Command+c to copy it to your clip-board.

  1. Paste the key in the License Key field
  2. Select “Activate License for this site
  3. Save Changes

The page will now either show you a success message or a notice about what went wrong, like an invalid or expired license key or a problem with the activated domain.

You may also manage your license domains from within your account on https://premium.status301.com/account/, tab Purchase History > View Licenses next to the relevant purchase entry, then Manage Sites from where you can either add or remove one or multiple domains depending on your license.

If you run into any problems, please do not hesitate to open a Support Ticket or ask on the Support Forum related to your plugin.
