Show title

Hi Johnny, it seems in WordPress 4.7 the gallery markup has changed. The image title is no longer used there so FancyBox does not have access to the title any more.

I found that the plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/restore-image-title/ provides an excellent work-around. It restores the titles being used in the markup again, which will allow them to be shown in the light box once more.

We’re considering integration of that same restore fix into the Easy FancyBox plugin. Until then, I recommend installing and activating https://wordpress.org/plugins/restore-image-title/ There are no options to be set, it simply works. If not, please let me know.

Hi guys – I’m having the same problem it seems. I have installed the plugin to fix the issue you recommended, but still no title appearing 🙁

I suspect it’s an issue with the Theme I’m using (X Theme with Cornerstone) but would like your input if you can think of a clever solution.

Hi William, looking at the source code of your example there, I find no alt or title attributes for either the link or the thumbnail image tag. FancyBox cannot know what to show as title without at least one of those…

Does the theme’s post editor (I suspect it’s one of the pagebuilder type editors?) show as options when inserting such a thumbnail image? Does it allow you to specify a Title or Alt text?

If so, please fill out the same text there as the Caption or another or longer text that you would like to see as title in the light box frame.
